Hey, I’m Julia! i learned things the hard way so you don’t have to.
I'm a functional nutritionist, bikini bodybuilder, and someone who understands what it's like to want both performance and aesthetics without sacrificing either.
My approach comes from years of navigating my own health challenges while maintaining the ambitious goals that drive so many of us.
Like many of my clients, I spent years feeling like I was spinning my wheels. I was doing all the "right" things according to doctors and my own online research. For six years, I dealt with severe gut issues that no doctor could help me with. I had hormonal imbalances since puberty, developed autoimmune conditions, and was also eventually diagnosed with POTS—all while trying to maintain the performance standards I'd set for myself.
What I learned through this experience is that our bodies are interconnected systems, not isolated problems to solve. It was actually through bodybuilding and working with knowledgeable coaches that I first started understanding these connections—how sleep affects recovery, how stress impacts physique changes, how gut health influences everything from energy to body composition. Understanding how these systems work together—and learning to work with them rather than against them—changed everything. Now I get to help others do the same.
a little more about me
It’s important that you connect with your coach! Here’s a little more info to see if we’re a good fit:
-
I hold certifications in personal training, nutrition, functional health, and bodybuilding and physique coaching, as well as a bachelor’s in sociology from the UC Santa Barbara.
More importantly, I've spent years bridging the gap between evidence-based practice and real-world application. My experience as a bodybuilder gives me insight into the mindset of people who want concrete results, while my work in functional health provides the tools to achieve those results sustainably.
-
I have an invisible disability called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), as well as several autoimmune conditions, which have taught me more about the relationship between stress, recovery, and performance than any textbook ever could.
Learning to compete and maintain high standards while managing chronic conditions has required developing strategies that most people never consider.
This experience has shaped my understanding that health isn't one-size-fits-all, and that sustainable approaches must account for individual challenges and circumstances. It also reinforced my belief that you don't have to lower your standards to take care of your health—you just have to be smarter about how you pursue your goals.

I’m a bikini bodybuilder, currently going through my second competition prep.
I was a competitive swimmer for 11 years, until I permanently injured both shoulders from overuse. This was devastating—I had been planning on swimming in college and my world was turned upside down.
My boyfriend dragged me to the gym during my freshman year of college, and I fell in love with lifting.
My Approach
I thoroughly believe that the most effective coaching begins with a trusting relationship between coach and client.
collaborative
We will work together to create a plan that fits into your life. I want you to have a say in your coaching. During our intake, I will ask you questions that will help me design your program. The goal is to find something that you enjoy and can commit to!
supportive
Fitness is a lifestyle, not an eight week kick. It requires a lot of hard work and habit building if you want it to stick with you for the rest of your life. I will be your biggest cheerleader and voice of reason throughout this process. There will be days when you want to give up on your goals! I’m here to make sure that doesn’t happen.
